Florence – Jay Jordan, Republican candidate for Congress in South Carolina’s new 7th Congressional District has been placed “On the Radar” in the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program.

“I’m honored to join the ranks of the Young Guns along with other good conservative candidates throughout the country,” said Jordan.

“Being placed ‘On the Radar’ exhibits our impressive momentum in just a short time of campaigning.”

The Young Guns Program was founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy and Congressman Paul Ryan to identify and support up and coming Republican candidates running for Congress.

Jordan announced at the end of January that his campaign had raised over $200,000 in just two months with 96% of those donors from inside the 7th Congressional District.

“I’m proud to have reached this mark in our campaign for the 7th District and to join the ranks of former Young Guns South Carolina alumni Mick Mulvaney, Tim Scott, Jeff Duncan and Trey Gowdy,” Jordan said.

“I look forward to joining our state’s current Congressional delegation in Washington as we work together to pass a real balanced budget amendment and slash spending and fight, together as conservatives, for the freedom to save our future for our kids and grandkids.”

Jay Jordan is a small business owner and attorney in Florence.  Jay and his wife, Tara, have three children: Wallace, Lana Claire and William Monroe.  If you want to learn more about Jay and his campaign, visit his website at www.jayjordanforcongress.com, on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/jayjordanforcongress and follow him on Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/Jordan4Congress
